Left East Liverpool, Ohio and stopped for some blueberry pancakes a few miles up the road. From there I took Route 30 west. While traveling through the town of Lisbon I saw two old diners, but didn't take any pictures.
Continued on Route 30 going up and down hills. I don't think I realize how far from home I am. Hope to be in Chicago by next week. Before I forget... I had mentioned a week or so ago that the spokes on the rear wheel are constantly loosening on a daily basis. This is slowing me down by a lot. In addition, I used some rope to help keep the front left pannier from sliding down the fork.
The bicycle has to go to a bike repair shop soon. It squeaks like hell and everything is loose--it needs a general tune-up. Considering that on this trip it has almost been through 600 miles and 205 miles before the trip, it has held up quite well. It has taken a beating such as the crash, heavy weight load, rain and bad road surfaces.
Anyway, I'm in a motel room on Route 30 west in Minerva, Ohio. Cost me $35.00 for the night. I really have to go back to camping to save money, but all the record rain in this area makes it difficult to do so. The lady at the front desk / house was kind enough to do my laundry at no charge in her house.
